Olive groves and olive oil are deeply intertwined with the Greek tradition. The whole Messinia is a huge olive grove. The favorable climate, the sunshine and the ground, allow every farmer to take care of each tree and get the fruit of the olive tree, when it is mature enough to give the superior quality of the olive oil.
The Koroneiki variety considered by specialists, the King of the olive oil. It is an indigenous variety that exists only in Greece, and in specific areas, such as in the Peloponnese and in some areas of the island of Crete.
Although it has a relatively low yield, the Koroneiki variety praised for organoleptic characteristics, namely the rich aroma, concentrated flavor and low acidity.
